Week of February 11th-15th!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day week! I hope you can all find lots of ways to show your family and friends that you care for them. Here are some upcoming important dates:

Monday: read 20 minutes, rl
Tuesday: read 20 minutes, rl
Wednesday: read 20 minutes, rl, early release at 2:50
Thursday: read 20 minutes, rl, Valentine’s Day celebration- bring a valentine for each student (optional)
Friday: reading logs due, Bookmobile

ELA: This week we are adding two new set of spelling words: dis- prefix (disappear, disagree, disarm, dishonest, and discontinue) and -ern suffixes (eastern, western, southern, and northern). We will also work on our Evaluate test for the month of February and wrap up text structures. Check out the following to practice:

Science: This week we will begin talking about animals in our world and how they fit into the food chain cycle. We will focus on producers, carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores and how they create food chains and webs when put together.
