Week of September 14th-18th

I am finally starting to feel like myself after battling a horrible cold for over a week. I guess it is the time of year for colds and germs. Anyway, we have a busy week. On Wednesday, we will make-up the water balloon throw at the principal for proficient and advanced MAP scores that was cancelled last week due to rain. This Friday we will also have our school pictures taken and Wednesday is Pencil Palace. Here is a summary of what we will be learning about this week:

ELA: We are beginning our unit on theme. Students have learned that the theme of a story is the moral or lesson the author is trying to teach. Practice identifying theme with the following activities:

1. Practice identifying theme, setting, or plot

2. Theme Powerpoint Review

3. Theme Review Video

Science:
In science we are learning about chemical and physical changes of matter. This will be our final unit in this chapter which means we will be ready to take the test a week from Friday. Look for study guides and flash cards coming home at the beginning of next week. Here are some sites to help you review:

1. Changes Online Lab

2. Practice Quiz

3. Review Video
