Week of December 7th-11th

Welcome to another wonderful week in fourth grade! We have a pretty regular week with no special activities occurring in the class. Check out what we are going to learn this week:

ELA: This week we will revisit our unit on mythology and focus heavily on comparing and contrasting the theme, pattern of events, characters, and topics in two different myths. This can often be very tricky because themes often deal with words and events that are unfamiliar with the students. This week will serve as a review before our end-of-unit assessment next week. We will also focus on the sound pattern -inge (cringe, fringe) and the suffix -or (doctor, actor, donor).
1. Great review and practice in this skill can be found @ common core practice

Science: We learned about static electricity last week and will move onto current electricity this week (the flow of electricity through wires). Students will build circuits with light bulbs, batteries, wires, switches, and motors. Check out these websites for practice at home:
1. Overview of electrical circuits
2. Practice building circuits
3. More Circuit Practice

Have a great week!
