We have completed our unit on mass.  During the unit, students were asked to identify important vocabulary words, draw I pictures to illustrate the definitions, find real classroom objects to illustrate the concepts, and post them on our interactive vocabulary board.  Here are some pictures from the matter unit.  Some highlights include:

-a bag of water with a block in it to show different amounts of density

-a rotting banana to show a chemical change

-a solution made of salt and water

-and some sample filters we used to separate a mixture of sand and rice
