Week of January 29th – February 2nd!

We continue to work through these cold winter months in fourth grade, but thankfully we have had some beautiful days recently! I had a great weekend celebrating my son’s 11th birthday and the Pinewood Derby! I hope you got to spend some quality time with your family as well! Here are some upcoming important dates:

Monday-Thursday: read 20 minutes a night, complete reading log
Wednesday: last day to pass a Reading Counts quiz this month!
Friday: reading logs due
Wildcat Assembly 2:45
Popcorn Day 25 cents

ELA: This week we will focus on text structures. This means the text was written with a specific purpose: to tell problem/solution, cause/effect, a sequence of events, etc. Our spelling words will include the suffix -hood (neighborhood, sisterhood, brotherhood, etc). Check out these practice activities:

3. Text Structure Flocabulary

Science: This week we will continue with transfer of energy, but will focus on forces that occur when collision occur between two objects. Check out these practice activities:
1. Amusement Park Physics– focus on the roller coaster and the bumper cars
