ELA: We are starting our second quarter unit with a review of a skill from last quarter: making inferences. We will practice finding clues in the story and using what we already know to make inferences about how a character is feeling even though it is not directly stated. We will also work on the -eece and -ence sound patterns for our spelling words (breeze, freeze, sneeze, squeeze, tweeze, wheeze, fence, hence, whence). The class will also take the October ELA evaluate assessment. Here are some inferencing practice websites:
1. Inferences Battleship game
2. Inference Video Lesson– watch the video and practice making inferences about it
3. Inferences Song

Science:
This week we are focused on our first science test of the year! The test will be on MONDAY, OCTOBER 16th! All fourth grade students will bring home flashcards on Tuesday, a study guide on Wednesday, and a practice test on
Thursday. Students should review all three throughout the weekend! Here are some more practice activities:
1. Jeopardy review game
2. Changing Matter Interactive Tool
3. Properties of Matter Fill-In Activity
