ELA:
We completed our unit test this week that we started last week. The rest of the week is dedicated to Innovation Day projects. Students are able to choose any topic to research and create a project for it. Students can make posters, google slide shows, models, etc to teach the rest of the class about their topic. Students are encouraged to pick a topic they are passionate about. We will provide poster board, paper, tape, crayons, etc, but students need to bring supplies if they are creating something else (clay, legos, boxes, etc). Check out these examples:

Science:
We are continuing our study on camouflage and other specialized structures that wild animals have for survival including skeletal systems and a good sense of smell. Students played a game this week were they hid animals they designed with camouflage in our school yard. Students were given one minute to “hunt” for each other’s animals. We found out that animals that were camouflaged only had 21 total hunted, while animals without camouflage had 39 total hunted.
