Week of November 14th-18th!!

Well, the countdown is on to Thanksgiving and family time! Only 10 more days to go! I can’t believe we only have 5 more weeks of school before winter break! This time will fly by! Here are some upcoming reminders:

ELA:
This week we are beginning a new unit on Firsthand and Secondhand accounts of an event. Firsthand accounts mean that the person actually witnessed/experienced the event and uses words such as “I” and “We”. Examples can include diaries, autobiographies, and photographs. A secondhand account is when someone has done research to learn about an event. Words that are used include: “they”, “he”, “she”, and names Examples include text books and biographies. We will also learn about the -inge sound pattern (cinge, fringe, tinge, etc). Check out the activities below:

Science:
This week we are wrapping up our study of landforms and moving into rocks and minerals. We will learn the difference between the 2, how to test properties of minerals, and what layers are found in the earth.
