ELA:
This week we are practicing words with the -aunt sound pattern. Examples include taunt, flaunt, haunt, jaunt, daunt, and gaunt. The first spelling test will be next Friday (9/9). Students will not have a specific list, they will remember spelling patterns from the previous week. The students will have to circle the words with -aunt sound patterns that are spelled correctly. We are practicing making inferences while we read. We make inferences when we use clues from the story and our prior knowledge to tell what is happening in the story even though it is not directly stated. Science:
This week we are focusing on measuring matter. We will practice using balances, scales, rulers, etc to find the mass, volume, and weight of different classroom objects. Practice below:
