Week of September 19th – 23rd!!!

Happy last week of summer! I can’t believe that fall starts later this week (even though the temperatures won’t make it feel that way)! Here is our upcoming week:

Monday: read 20 minutes
Tuesday: read 20 minutes, p.e.
Wednesday: read 20 minutes, p.e., Early dismissal at 1:50
Thursday: read 20 minutes
Friday: read 20 minutes, spelling test

Science: We will continue our discussion on how fossils are formed and then discover how scientists used fossils to discover that all 7 continents used to be connected into 1 super continent called Pangea. We will then begin looking at how the plates have moved over time to get to where they are today. You can practice some of these ideas below:

Reading: This week we will look at text features found in nonfiction texts. Text features are things that authors add to make it easier to understand a text. These include maps, diagrams, charts, etc. Students can practice with text features below:

Spelling: Our words this week have vowel teams and dipthongs in them. They include:
