Week of December 2nd – 6th!!!

It seems to early to be writing December as the date, but here it is and we will be on winter break before we know it!  I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving break!  I had a great time with my family laughing, relaxing, and stuffing my face full of food.  Here are some important dates:

Monday: read 20 minutes, RL

Tuesday: read 20 minutes, RL, Dairy Queen fundraiser from 4-8 pm

Wednesday: read 20 minutes, RL

Thursday: read 20 minutes, RL

Friday: RL due, popcorn day for 25 cents, Wildcat Assembly 2:45

**Food For Thought food drive for the next 2 weeks!

ELA: This week we are reviewing all spelling words for the months of October and November.  We are a little ahead of the other 2 fourth grades so we won’t be adding any new words this week.  We are also going to begin focusing on text features such as bold words, captions, italicized words, etc in text that give us information beyond just reading the words.  Check out the following practice pages:

Science: We will continue with our work on simple machines this week focusing on how simple machines can affect the amount of force or direction of force needed. We will also discuss how they can be used to do work.
