Week of April 8th – 12th!

These lovely, spring days are so lovely! I am so glad we are finally getting outside to play again! I hope this weather lasts forever!

Check out some of our upcoming important dates:
Monday: read 20 minutes, RL
Tuesday: read 20 minutes, RL
Wednesday: read 20 minutes, RL

Friday: MAP testing, RL due, Pencil Palace

ELA: We are back to getting new spelling words for the week. Our first set are words that end with -or (doctor, actor, auditor, and donor). Our second set of words are words with the out- prefix (outbid, outclass, outlive, and outdo). We have no new reading strategies this week because we are preparing for the MAP test. We will take the reading portion of the state test on Thursday and Friday of this week. Students can visit the following for practice:
1. MAP practice test
2. Online Practice Test
3. E-Direct Tools Practice

Science: We are continuing to learn how plants and animals survive. This week we are focusing on how animals use their senses to survive, particularly their sense of smell and sight. We challenged ourselves to “see in the dark” and match smells.
1. Basic Senses game
2. Animal Senses quiz
3. Animal Super Senses video- cat whiskers
4. Animal Atlas Video
