Week of February 4th – 8th!!!

We have a pretty normal week this week. There are no special activities, and hopefully no snow/cold weather days! The only thing to remember is to make sure that you read 20 minutes a night and turn in your reading log on Friday.

ELA: This week is really serving as a catch-up week in both reading and science because of the lost days last week when we had bad weather. We are taking our spelling test and then starting on new spelling words with the – suffix. We will also wrap up first and third person point of view and begin talking about text structures. The five text structures are chronologicaL, sequence, cause and effect, problem and solution, and compare and contrast. Check out the following activities:

1. Text Structure practice test
2. Text Structure Jeopardy
3. Text Structure Flocabulary

Science: In science class, we will continue learning about photosynthesis: how plants make food and the role plants play on earth. We will begin talking about how plants and animals need each other for survival. Check out these practice activities:
1. Photosynthesis and Respiration Game
2. Photosynthesis video
3. Photosynthesis Online lab
