It looks like we may actually have a warm-up later this week! I am so ready for some warm temperatures and sunshine! Here are some upcoming important dates:

Wednesday: MAP testing starts, PTA mtg at 6:30 pm
Thursday: MAP testing

ELA: We are once again visiting our Greek Myths and Legends to learn about famous words and expressions that come from Greek characters and stories. For example, you could tell someone they have the “Midas touch” because they always seem to be lucky (King Midas was a character who turned everything he touched to gold). Our spelling words include the -th suffix (warmth, length, width, filth, and strength). Here are some practice activities for this week:

1. It’s Greek to Me game
2. Grid Club game
3. Greek Roots pinball

Science:
Students finished up their science tests on Monday and we reviewed their scores on Tuesday. We are also beginning our new unit on plant and animal adaptations and survival. This week we will begin to learn how plants and animals have special features and behaviors that help them survive such as camouflage. Check out these practice activities:

1. Animal Adaptations Studyjam
2. Build Your Wild Self– give yourself wacky adaptations
3. Identify the Adaptations game
