Week of November 13th-17th!!!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had an awesome time celebrating my son’s 8th birthday with a hayride and a bonfire. I hope everyone gets outside and enjoys nature before we are soon trapped in by the winter cold and snow. Here are some important dates for the week:

Monday – Thursday: read 20 minutes, complete reading log if required
Tuesday- Family Night at the Magic House from 6-8 pm
Wednesday- Pencil Palace, Early dismissal at 2:50 for teacher PD
Friday – reading logs due for students who have them

ELA: This week we will work on identifying firsthand and secondhand accounts from nonfiction sources. Firsthand accounts are events described by the person who actually experienced them, such as a person who ran out of a building fire. Secondhand accounts are made by people who witnessed the event. We will also review are new spelling words: -inge words: cringe, fringe, singe, etc. Check out the following for practice:

Science:
This week our focus is on fossils! How where they formed? Where did they come from? What can we learn from them? Why are they made? Here are some practice websites to learn more:
