It feels like fall has finally arrived, and just in time for Halloween! We will not have math or reading homework on Halloween night, we want all students who are going trick-or-treating to enjoy themselves! Here are some more important dates coming up:

Monday: read 20 minutes, students who are completing October reading logs should complete one for Monday
Tuesday: Happy Halloween, Bookmobile
Wednesday: read 20 minutes, students who are completing November reading logs should complete for Wednesday
Thursday: reading logs due
Friday: no school for teacher Professional Development

ELA: This week we will work on 2 sound patterns: -ield (yield, field, shield) and -ince (mince, since, wince, and prince). Our spelling test will be on Thursday since we don’t have school on Friday. We will also wrap-up our summarizing and main idea unit with quizzes on Thursday. You can get more practice by visiting:

Science: Students will complete our mini-unit on the scientific method this week by completing an experiment and following all 6 steps. The week will end with a review quiz over the 6 steps and what is done at each step.
