Week of October 23rd-27th

I apologize for getting the blog up late, I had a funeral to attend on Monday. Here are some important dates for the week:

Reading Log: read Monday-Thursday for 20 minutes, complete reading log (turn in Friday)
Red Ribbon Week:
Monday- wear red day
Tuesday- hat day
Wednesday- camouflage day
Thursday- twin day
Friday- Superhero day (no face masks)

ELA: We are wrapping up our unit on Author’s Purpose this week and continuing on to learn about summarizing a story by identifying the main idea and details to support. We will also focus on words with the -etch sound pattern (sketch, stretch, retch, wretch, and fetch) for the spelling test next week. Check out these practice activities:

Science:
We are continuing our mini-unit on the Scientific Method before we start our Earth Materials unit. This week we will focus on asking a testable question, writing a hypothesis, writing specific procedures, and drawing conclusions. Check out the practice activities below.
1. Gravity Testable Question game– type testable or not-testable in the answer boxes before the asteroid drops off the screen.

3. Virtual lab to practice all steps of the Scientific Method
