Week of May 15th-19th!!

We have made it to our final full week of school (next week we only have 4.5 days of school left). We have a busy final 2 weeks including:

Wednesday, May 17th- final Pencil Palace, Famous Missourians presentations: bring any items from home that may enhance your presentation

Thursday, May 18th- field trip to Powder Valley; bring: lunch, drink, hat, sunglasses, tennis shoes, apply sunscreen and bug spray before you arrive at school

Friday, May 19th: final reading log due (you don not have to complete one if you were proficient or advanced on the ELA evaluate this week)

Monday, May 22nd: Pillowcase project presentation
Wednesday, May 24th: Trivia competition, yearbook signing
Thursday, May 25th: Talent Show assembly, last full day of school
Friday, May 26th: spring parties, Move-Up day, dismissal at 11:50

ELA: As we wrap up this school year, we will continue to read from the book “The Capture”. We will also read nonfiction articles from different sources and synthesize the information together. Check out the following:
1. Fractured Fairy Tales– synthesizing practice
2. synthesizing game (enter your first name to get a “key” to play)
3. First 5 minutes of the movie version of “The Capture”– preview

Science:
Students will continue their work with skeletal systems of animals that help them survive and begin learning about internal and external cues that give animals “cues” for certain behaviors- hunger, thirst, migration, etc.
