Week of April 10th-14th!!!

Sorry I am updating the blog a day late; I was out Monday with several doctor appointments to get to. We have a short week with our Spring Weekend coming up. Here are some important dates to remember:

Wednesday, April 12th: St. Louis Blues day-wear blue or a Blues shirt to celebrate the start of the play-offs
PTA meeting 6:30
Thursday, April 13th: reading logs due
Friday, April 14th: no school
Monday, April 17th: no school
Tuesday, April 18th: bookmobile

ELA: Since this is a short week, we are not working on any new skills, just wrapping up some monthly testing including evaluate and finishing the novel “Shiloh”. Please feel free to review any activities from former weeks for practice. Our new spelling words include the suffix: -ness (kindness, happiness, goodness, darkness).

Science:
We are continuing our work with living and nonliving things this week. We will also introduce the three Missouri ecosystems we will focus on for the remainder of the year: pond, prairie, and forest. Students will also have their first graded assignment from the new unit, but as always, will be able to use their books and their notebooks to find answers. Check out these practice activities:
1. ecosystems pirate game (kinda tricky)
2. make your own pond
3. Studyjams Ecosystems
