ELA: This week is our assessment week. The students are taking their end-of-quarter Scholastic Reading Inventory to determine reading level. This will be shared on their report cards and at conferences. We will also review and take the unit 3 reading assessment covering all of the skills we have worked on since winter break. Finally, students will be working on their March evaluate assessment. This covers all skills for fourth grade. These kids will deserve spring break for sure!

Science: In science class, we will continue our unit on current electricity (electricity that flows through wires). We will discover conductors (materials that allow electricity to flow through) and insulators (materials that do not allow electricity to flow through), series circuits (circuits with only 1 path for electricity to flow) and parallel circuits (circuits with more than 1 path for electricity to flow), and sources/receivers of energy. Check out the following practice activities:
1. Online circuit maker– practice making series and parallel circuits
2. Who Can Resist conductors and insulators game
3. Conductors and Insulators video
