Week of October 10th – 14th!!

I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the beautiful 3 day weekend. I was able to root on my boys as they played soccer and participated in a swim meet. I am looking forward to more beautiful days coming up! Here are some important reminders for the week:

Wednesday, October 12th is early dismissal at 2:50
Friday, October 14th: reading logs due
hat day $1

We are collecting donations this week for our school book fair. All money collected will be used to purchase books for our classroom. The donation schedule goes as:
Tuesday: bring in pennies
Wednesday: bring in nickels
Thursday: bring in dimes
Monday: bring in quarters

Last, but not least, conference times will go home today. Please check the time and return the form as soon as possible. If you need a new time, please let me know. Conferences are next Wednesday evening and Thursday during the day and evening!

ELA: This week we are once again focusing on making inferences. We will practice with nonfiction articles though. We are currently reading about the Loch Ness Monster and making inferences about whether it is real or not. Check out these practice pages:

Science:
This week we will continue our lessons on the Scientific Method. We will focus on the following steps: Make a hypothesis, design experiment, collect and analyze data, make conclusions, and share results. This learning will end with our class conducting an experiment with skittles using the scientific method.
