Week of October 5-9th!

We have a very busy week ahead of us! Here are some of the highlights:

1. Your child will be bringing home their new reading log/worksheet. Fourth graders should be reading 20 minutes a night. The reading log is due back on Friday, October 30th. Students should be reading the book they checked out from the Walker School library. When students complete the book, they will take a Reading Counts quiz at school to earn points that can be turned in for prizes. The reading log worksheet should be completed on this book.

2. Events this week:
-Book Fair goes on this entire week with family night on Thursday, October 8th. Students may bring money to purchase books beginning tomorrow.
-McTeacher night at the McDonalds near the middle school is from 4-8 pm tomorrow night. This helps Walker raise money for items needed throughout the school year.
-Walk/Ride to School on Wednesday, Oct. 7th. We are encouraging all students to ride their bicycle or walk to school. If students live too far away, an option is for them to be dropped off near the end of Humes Road so that they can still participate part of the way.
-wear pink for Mrs. Thompson on Wednesday again!
-Friday, October 8th, is wear red to school to celebrate the Cardinals’ first play-off game.
-a quick reminder: there is no school on Monday, October 12, for teacher professional development and records day.
